Dans son dernier article 'COP 27 : A great opportunity to address the double crisis of food security and climate change -and for the EU to re-align its farm to fork strategy' in 'Frontiers in Environmental Economics' Philipp Aerni remet en question l'idée que le Green Deal européen et la stratégie f2f auront les effets escomptés. Il affirme également que l'intention de la Commission européenne de promouvoir la stratégie f2f dans les pays tropicaux à faible revenu n'est peut-être pas compatible avec son engagement envers le principe d'appropriation dans l'aide au développement.
